Each wave remembered
Shadow patterns in the sand
Memory
Until the next wave leaves
Its own mark
Lessons on impermanence

What mark do we make
Patterns in space of
Our fleeting moments
Do the sands remember us
Are our movements recorded
Or forgotten by each new experience

I ask how am I going to be remembered
By acts of generosity
Or those moments when I held back
I look in space for those patterns
I listen to the sound of waves
Knowing a pattern created
Touches memory of those gone before
